TOPIC: “Disclosure: Not Too Much and Not Too Little”
AIM: To ensure that delegates know exactly what and what not to disclose in financial statements of small and medium size companies.
SUBJECTS COVERED: Common Disclosure Omissions, Particular Issues Identified by the Monitoring Units, Inadequate Disclosure of Accounting Policies and Changes therein, Disclosure of Transaction with Directors and Related Parties. The Disclosure Elements of Recently Implemented Accounting Standards and UITF’s. Recent Changes in Companies Act Affecting Financial Statements and Directors Reports.

SUNDAY, 24th June
SPEAKER: HINA BELITZ – Joint Managing Partner of Partners Employment Lawyers, Lecturer and Author of the Penguin Guide to Employment Rights.
TOPIC: “Employment Law Update”
AIM: To familiarise delegates with current issues in employment law relevant to their practice and to their clients.
SUBJECTS COVERED: Contracts of Employment. Discrimination in the Workplace, including Age and Disability Discrimination. Workplace Laws aimed at Parents and Families, including Flexible Working, Parental and Paternity Leave, etc. Recent Case Law, including Employment Tribunal Cases.

SUNDAY, 1st July
SPEAKER: PAUL SOPER – Well known Speaker, Writer and Broadcaster.
TOPIC: “To Be or Not To Be: Resident or Domiciled”
AIM: To discuss the advantages and disadvantages of non-residence and non-domicile.
SUBJECTS COVERED: Practical Residence and Domicile Issues. Planning and Timing, Remitting Income to the UK, Double Taxation Treaties, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax.

GENERAL INFORMATION

FEE: Each course £65 plus VAT or £275 plus VAT for all 5 courses.

CANCELLATION

IF YOU CANCEL: Delegates cancelling a course place more than 14 days prior to the course; a refund of the course fee will be made after deducting an administration charge of £20.
No refund will be made to delegates cancelling a course place within 14 days of the course.

IF WE CANCEL: Occasionally, we find it necessary to cancel or postpone a course or conference due to unforeseen circumstances. Our liability in the event of a cancellation will be limited to a refund of any course fee.

CHANGES TO We reserve the right to make changes to any part of the
PROGRAMME programme without prior notice.

REGISTRATION: From 30 minutes before the commencement of the course.

Full course material and conference folders will be supplied on registration.

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be served.

In the current series the following Sundy morning coarses will be held at the Brent Cross Conference Centre, Claremont Road, London, NW2 1AE, from 10 AM to 12.45 PM. Each coarse costs £65 + VAT (or special offer - book all 5 coarses for only £275 + VAT) and qualifies for 8.25 CPE points or 2.75 hours CPD.

Solicitors

At present, we regret we are not running a series specifically for solicitors. Howveer a number of our lecture topics are suitable for both accountants and lawyers and recieve accredition from the law society. Please contact us for further details.
